Privacy Policy
Your privacy matters to us. This policy explains what data we collect, why, and your rights under UK GDPR.
Last updated: 6 July 2026
1. Who we are
Hello Chicken Ltd (“we”, “us”) operates hellochicken.co.uk and is the data controller for the personal data described here. We are based at Far Gosford Street, Coventry CV1.
2. What we collect
Account details: your name, email address and phone number when you register or check out.
Order information: items ordered, delivery or collection choice, delivery address, order notes and payment status.
Payment data: card payments are processed securely by Stripe. We never see or store your full card number — only a masked reference (brand and last four digits) if you save a card.
Technical data: IP address, device and browser information, and cookies needed to run the site and keep you signed in.
3. How we use your data
To take, prepare, fulfil and deliver your orders, and to keep you updated on their progress.
To manage your account and order history.
To send transactional emails such as order confirmations and password resets.
With your consent, to send marketing about offers and new menu items. You can opt out at any time from your account settings or via the unsubscribe link.
4. Lawful bases
We process order and account data to perform our contract with you, transactional communications and fraud prevention under our legitimate interests, and marketing on the basis of your consent.
5. Sharing your data
We share data only with providers who help us run the service: Stripe (payments), our email provider (transactional email), delivery drivers (your address and order for delivery), and our hosting and database providers. We never sell your data.
6. Retention
We keep order records for as long as required for accounting and tax purposes (typically six years). Account data is kept until you delete your account, after which orders are anonymised.
7. Your rights
Under UK GDPR you can request access to, correction or deletion of your data, object to or restrict processing, and request data portability. You can delete your account at any time from Settings. To exercise other rights, email us. You may also complain to the ICO (ico.org.uk).
8. Cookies
We use essential cookies for authentication and cart functionality, plus your theme preference. We do not use advertising cookies.
